The best part about The Frugal Guide‘s eBook-only format is the ability to keep the book updated as often as need be—for free. This is so important for travel guides, and the biggest drawback to the traditional print books is that have to be shipped to bookstores with information that might be out of date before the ink is dry.
And so I’m happy to announce today’s update, with lots of new tips and updated details to Dublin’s frugal favorites.
Last month, I visited the brand-new Irish Rock ‘N’ Roll Museum and was able to update my Temple Bar guide with a review—and add a little more about Windmill Lane to my Docklands guide.
I also finally made time for a visit to Áras an Uachtaráin—the home of the Irish President—in Phoenix Park and compare it to the (also free) tour of nearby Farmleigh House. (Farmleigh gets my nod if you only have time for one tour of a fancy mansion-turned government accommodation.)Besides the big additions, I also comb through the book before each update to fix previously-missed errors and spot check the odd museum opening times or day tour details for anything that may have changed. Also, a number of annual festivals finally announced official dates after the New Year, and I was able to put definitive dates in the 2016 calendar.
Grab the new update, share it with that friend or family member planning an Irish visit—you know you have at least one—and stay in touch until the next edition!
